Upcoming GJGJ Conference Panel on Advanced Biofuels
High Road Strategies is scheduled to participate in the upcoming Good Jobs Green Jobs Conference, to be held April 16-18, 2013 at the Washington Hilton Hotel, Washington DC. The conference is being convened by the BlueGreen Alliance, jointly with many industry, labor, environment and educational organizations and others. Along with industry, government and energy policy experts, HRS principal Dr. Joel S. Yudken will participate on the panel, “The Economic and Environmental Benefits of Advanced Biofuels.” Organized by HRS in conjunction with Environmental Entrepreneurs (a non-partisan organization of business people who support the environment), the panel will be moderated by E2 executive director Judith Albert, and is scheduled to also include David Hitchcock, VP of Government Affairs of Virent Inc., Sarah Bittleman, senior advisor to U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilseck, Steve Flick, CEO of Flick Seed Company, and Tom Hicks, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy (invited). Advanced biofuels are renewable fuels that can replace petroleum fuels while significantly reducing carbon pollution. The panel will review the state of the advanced biofuels industry, and present research and real-world examples of the sector’s economic benefits across the manufacturing, agricultural and construction sectors. Dr. Yudken will present the findings of his report for E2, the Economic Benefits of Military Biofuels. The panel is scheduled to be held 2:40 pm to 4:10 pm, Wednesday, April 17.
